What's the reputation on maintence and reliability? Where can you buy parts? Any good WEB sites that supply Suzue parts?Any input is appreciated! Thanks

I'm new to this site and was reading through some old postings (couldn't sleep...this seemed to help) and came across this Suzue question. Thought I'd offer my 2 cents worth in case others are needing parts.

Suzue's were sold in the USA via a dealer network, mostly on the west coast. The 150 and 170's were brought in for the US market. They (150/170's only) are not gray market machines. This was in the late 70's and early 80's. The engine is the same as the Mitsubishi Beaver (aka Satoh). A guy in Oregon, near Beaverton, stocks and sells parts for these. He has manuals as well. No problem getting clutch parts, or new decals, etc. NOS parts that he collected from outgoing dealers in the early eighties are relatively cheap. Replacement parts that he has had to order from Japan are expensive. Fro example, clutches prices are (please be sitting down...): disk $187, pressure plate $336, TO bearing $50, pilot bushing $13. A full set of operation/service and parts manuals comes to $65. The only part that he has a hard time getting is steering gearbox parts.

This parts guy never was a dealer. He actually imports small Yanmar (and other Japanese) harvesting equipment for a niche market...mostly sells to universities doing small scale agricultural projects. Interesting guy, and very helpful.

I haven't talked to him in a year, but I suspect he is still at it. His name is Max Webster at Willamette Importing in Beaverton, Oregon. I last reached him at 503-246-2671. Hope this helps someone out there. ....

I own a suzue in Bangor, Maine. Found a dealer called Freedom Power Equipment in Hermon, Maine can get any parts you need for these tractors. Also does repairs. Has manuals as well.

Nice little tractor. Owned about 10 years and drove it hard, never had any serious problems... ....
